Our Sweet Little Baby!

Most of you know that we were able to find out the sex of the baby last friday! I thought I would blog our findings to ease a lot of curiouse minds and to keep you all posted on our little amazing baby. I went in that morning so excited. The good news is that Lincoln will have a little buddy:) Yes it is a boy!! The not so good news is that he has a lot of complications. He is missing one of his kidneys and the other is slightly dialated which means its a slightly larger than normal. He also has a disease called Omphalocele. This is where some of his insides are on the outside, I am also missing one of my umbilical arteries. They don't know the condition of his heart and that one kidney yet so keep your fingers crossed that they are ok. I had an amnio yesterday to check for nerological problems and should find out Friday or Tuesday. He put me on bed rest yesterday just for the day and I can't lift anything for a few days. So any of you who have lifted my little Lincoln know that this is going to be hard:)We are scheduled to do an echocardiogram friday the 5th to see if he has any heart problems and how his one kidney is doing. The omphalocele is pretty big but I did get some good news yesterday, my fluid look great so I was excited about that. This little baby is soooo active and is moving all the time! He is looking good as far as his size goes. Our hopes are high and we seem to be on our "knees" a lot. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us and I have faith in his plan. I feel lucky to be trusted with such an amazing spirit. Thanks for all of your phone calls and support during this time. I will try to keep everyone updated.

Linz, you are such a trooper! I heard a few days ago and have been thinking and praying for you all ever since. I didn't hear that it was a boy, though! I love you guys all so much and if there is anything at all that we can do for you, please let us know! We will be praying for a miracle and a healthy baby boy to join your family. Love you.

Truman got that letter train puzzle for his bday and Sophie likes to take out the "S" and "A" train cars. She said it reminds her of Avery!

GW Smith's! we refer to you as the Goerge Washington Smith's! What an amazing family you are. Sorry to hear about all the new findings,I cry as I read your sweet story Life is not fair...I imagine if "he" could blog it would read something like this..."Hey Mom I guess you got a peak at my little body growing next to your heart. It isn't exactly perfect, yet, but my Spirit is! I know I am coming to an Amazing family and can't wait to met all of you again! I wish everyone was as lucky to have an Eternal Family like me! I already am a miracle and love you all so much! Thank you for all you do for me!"

We know we are miles away but what can we do to help you out? We are good travelers and Raschell can come be your Nanny in a second if that would help! Please don't hesitate to say YES!
After working in the NICU (for alot of years) I have seen Miracle after Miracle happen. It surely has strengthed my faith! We are praying and pleading for all of you!

I am so sorry to hear your news. It's good to see you being so positive! At Primary Children's I care for children with Omphalocele almost everyday, their outcomes are mostly good, technology is a miracle!
We will keep you in our prayers and be praying for a healthy boy. I know you'll be blessed whatever the outcome may be, the Lord works in mysterious ways.

Linz, I have been trying to watch on Skypes if we are on at the same time and I haven't had luck getting you. I talked to Julie and wanted to tell you guys that we love you and you will be in our prayers! I am glad you posted about it so I could see your update and that you have such a great outlook. You are amazing! I didn't hear it was a boy though. If there is anything we could do from you please let me know. If you need a pal to come help lift Lincoln for awhile I could send my tank Jenson, JK. But really we love you and hang in there!

We love you all so much! We will keep you in our prayers. If it helps at all, we know a four year old who was born with the same defect of organs on the outside; she is healthy and happy as can be, now. We will pray the same for your darling family. Hang in there!
